Chicago!! Event 1 of 4 done and dusted. ✅ We had an absolute blast. 💥
The first few days it took us a while to adjust to the Tom 28s. Practice day saw big breeze and big waves while day 1 of racing had barely 5 knots and relatively flat water. So we saw a great variety of conditions across the event.
As the regatta went on our boat handling improved and we began to feel quite confident in our starts.
Once finishing the double round robin series we jumped into the knock out rounds winning all of our races against the Irish team and fellow kiwis. Both races were tight, exciting races with multiple penalties! After wrapping up the knockout series, we were happy to move up a place finishing the event in 5th. We were stoked to continuously improve day to day.
